Project #6

Self Portrait
This was for us to capture our self portrait without actually being in the photo. I took Momma's idea and got things that made me happy into one shot. All the books are by Marcia Lynn McClure and I can open any of these up anywhere and know what's going on. The camera is my N75 camera. The daisies are because they are my favorite and they make everything better, so I also toned them pink so that they were even more about me! The boot and the beach setting are because I love both the beach and the county.

Project #5

Essay Project
For this we worked in groups of three and got together to shoot a photo essay of 12 images. For ours we chose to do camping, because, really, who doesn't love camping? My shots were numbers 1, 3, 4, and 11 in the series. We wanted to tell the story from beginning to end and try to capture all the aspects of the experience.

Project #4

Sense of Place
For this we had to shoot a picture that made the person viewing it that they were actually there; that they could get the feeling of the place. This is the backside of Point Whitehorn, right out in front of the staircase from the trail. We had to do a neutral black and white shot, and then tone one to give it a different feel, so I chose to do a light sepia to warm it up and make it feel more like a sunny day!

Project #3

Body
We had to shoot images of the body. We are working on converting things into grayscale and getting skin tone correct is hard to do. I decided to shoot my feet in the tub!

Project #2

Fragmentation
For this we had to get real close to something so you couldn't tell exactly what it was. We are using the zone system, which is a way to make sure you get every zone for the highlights and shadows.

Assignment #1

Two Ways of Seeing
For this we had to take a picture that would be strong in both color and black and white. So, I made Sirita do her make-up really bright, so that I would be able to play with it on the computer.
